Our new commissioned work – help support us!

Some history behind our project – in 2014, we felt it was important to kick it up a notch and dream of achieving a very big goal: to commission a Pacific Northwest composer to create a work for us to debut. And we did it! With your help via Kickstarter, we premiered renowned composer Reginald Unterseher’s work, Elixir of the Solar Spectrum. Check out our section on our website devoted to Elixir here. For our Kickstarter rewards, we distributed recordings of the work, concert tickets, signed copies of the score and inspiring poem by Bellingham poet Carla Shafer, and thank you letters from the BCC singers. This could not have happened without a groundswell of support from our local community, and we are all extremely grateful.

Now it’s 2017, and we want to do it again! We’ve commissioned a new piece, this time from the wonderful John Muehleisen. John has served as composer in residence for Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble, the Dale Warland Singers, and Choral Arts Northwest, creating fantastic choral pieces for these groups and more. We will perform John’s brand-new piece for us as part of our final concert of the current season, on May 20, 2017, at First Congregational Church in Bellingham.

It’s on our hearts to create fine music that has a local flavor, and share it with you. Browse through our Kickstarter page and check out all the awesome rewards we have planned for you! It’s all about creating brand-new choral art right here in the Pacific Northwest, and we can’t do it without you. Will you help us make it happen? Check out our Kickstarter page here – thank you for your support!
